A trip was planned to New Mexico near the end of summer vacation was dampened by an automobile accident.
I still remembered I was playing word fan-tan game with my friends on highway 287 heading toward Amarillo. A friend of mine, who was unfamiliar with American traffic, drove to U-turn lane and tried to avoid hitting into grass and went off the road, but been unable to turn back so that we dropped into the ditch, and the car rolled over and ended up sitting with right hand side down.
The ambulance, fire fighting truck, and road assistants gathered very soon when I jumped out from the car window. I pulled a friend who was in the back out and rescued the other friend who was driving.
My car was totally broken, and the man of tow truck said that my car was not repairable.
I waited until my car was settled down and got to hospital to see my friend. Fortunately, she was fine.
I have been through a “life and death” experience, and was lucky that insurance company compensated me 17000 dollars so that I can replaced another car.
